Welsh Proms: Lance Ellington To Sing at Jazz Prom

THE voice of Strictly Come Dancing will perfom at this year’s Jazz Prom at St David’s Hall on Thursday July 27.

Accompanied by Cardiff’s own Capital City Jazz Orchestra, Lance Ellington will be centre-stage for an evening of Jazz and Big Band Swing.

Lance’s charismatic style and sultry tones have endeared him to millions across the UK as the singer of Strictly house band. Plus, he’s worked with some of the world’s top artists including Sting, George Michael, Robbie Williams and Michael Jackson.

The Capital City Jazz Orchestra were formed in 2007 to play once a month at Dempsey’s Jazz Club in Cardiff and have gone from strength to strength. Since then they have worked with iconic artists and appeared at International Jazz Festivals including Swansea and Brecon.

Over the last decade, they have worked with a host of international jazz artists including Matt Ford, Lee Gibson, Claire Martin, Nigel Hitchcock and Bobby Shew to name just a few.
