Theatre AdHoc Tour With Frank Vickery Conedy - One O’clock from the House
Building on their reputation for producing successful comedy theatre (most recently ‘Blackadder Goes Forth’ and ‘The Vicar of Dibley’), Theatre AdHoc are touring in May with the Frank Vickery comedy, ‘One O’clock from the House’.
The play revolves around a family funeral in the Welsh valleys and highlights the tensions between four sisters, recently bereaved of their father. The vastly differing characters of the siblings (not forgetting the fact that one is a long term resident of a psychiatric institution) mean that arranging a funeral is not an easy task. Throw in a well-meaning but slightly ‘twp’ cousin and his bizarre wife, a family friend who thinks his shopping trolley is a dog and confusion over the dead father’s will and you have the recipe for two hours of classic comic genius from the pen of this sorely missed Welsh playwright.
