Music icon, Petula Clark will return to Wales this autumn with a new UK tour accompaning her new album From Now On, which is due for release in September 2016. The album is a refreshing and inspiring collection of songs that draws upon various influences from Petula’s canvas and seven decade career.
A true international superstar and legend, Petula Clark remains the best selling British female artist in recording history selling over 68 million records worldwide and to this day regularly tours throughout the world.
Petula became the first UK female artist to win a Grammy in 1964 with Downtown for Best Rock n Roll Record and won her second Grammy in 1965, for Best Female Vocal Performance with I Know A Place. A key player in ‘the British Invasion’, Petula scored 15 consecutive US top forty hits, and paved the way for female British artists ever since.
The forthcoming show which takes place at Cardiff’s St David’s Hall on October 9 will feature many of Petula’s classic hits, such as Downtown, This Is My Song and I Know A Place, as well as a selection of songs from her new album.
