Hampshire trio Blaenavon are rapidly emerging as one of 2016’s most exciting new acts having made already performed breakthrough sets at The Great Escape, Latitude and Glastonbury.
Their latest single Let’s Pray is currently being championed by Radio 1 favourites Annie Mac and Huw Stephens and the band have also released an accompanying video – a darkly humorous revenge-film directed by fast rising collaborator Claes Nordwall.
“I wanted to bring the exploitation and revenge-film style into a current scenario. Taking a loose cue from Abel Ferarra’s “Ms. 45” (1981),” says Nordwall,” This cold blooded / calm tempered girl being a dystopian example of an increasingly detached youth who spend too much time online. It felt like a suitable plot for the song’s dark lyrical themes.”
