Newport Playgoers new season commenced this week and there’s still chance to catch their presentation of The Titfield Thunderbolt, a period British comedy about a group of villagers trying to keep their branch line operating after British Railways decided to close it.
The production was a major family favourite when performed by The Newport Playgoers in Newport back in 2011 and was recently a big success again when performed at Cornwall’s Minack Theatre over the Summer.
Andy Howells observed in his review of the show back in 2011: ” The audience are pulled into the action too as the cast and props move freely within the theatre, bringing excitement, interaction and fun to the proceedings to a point one small child shouted “again!” when one fun filled scene came to an end.”
There’s a further performance this evening at the Dolman Theatre at 7:15pm, and at the same time again tomorrow with an additional matinee performance at 2:30pm on Saturday. Visit the Dolman Theatre website for ticket details.
