Roald Dahl fans should expect the unexpected this weekend as a series of free events celebrating the famous author’s life take place around Cardiff City Centre.
Between 1pm and 9.30pm the City Centre will explode into the weird and wonderful world of Roald Dahl. Look out for unexpected happenings on the streets and buildings throughout the city…but don’t be fooled, not everything is what it seems! Locations of which will be revealed during the day.
On Sunday, visitors are invited to don their pyjamas for the Great Pyjama Picnic at Coopers Field in Bute Park between 2-5pm.
The free family event will bring together all the themes, stories, characters and cast of the weekend in a huge celebration of food, music and story.
Visitors are encouraged to bring their own Roald Dahl-inspired picnic, so they will be in with a chance to win a competition judged by Beca Lyne-Pirkis, presenter of S4C’s Becws and former contestant on BBC One’s Great British Bake Off! Beca will be keeping her eyes (and tastebuds) open for picnics in four categories, Most Dahlian Picnic, Most Revolting Picnic, Most Beautiful Picnic and most Unexpected Picnic
