John Godber’s ‘non stop’ comedy drama Bouncers begins an Autumn Tour of Wales at Blackwood Miners Institute this week.
Directed by Richard Tunley for Black RAT Productions, the 16 date tour is a response to the popular demand following the previous Wales tour of Bouncers gained in 2010 and was hailed as ‘an excellent production’ by its playwright John Godber.
In this topically updated version, the story follows the fortunes of Les, Judd, Ralph and Lucky Eric, the bouncers at a local night club, as they prepare for the onslaught of a Friday night’s debauchery. Lads are on the pull, girls are on the razzle and the beer is flowing free. What follows is a theatrical feast as the four bouncers play ALL the characters with hysterical consequences.
Gareth John Bale and Sam Davies who both performed in the original acclaimed production of Bouncers by the company in 2010 will be joined by Ross Ford and Morgan Hopkins.
The company will tour 16 venues all across Wales from Tuesday October 4 until Monday November 7, opening with three nights at Blackwood Miners Institute from October 4-6.
The production is suitable for age range 14+. For tickets for the Blackwood Miners Institute performances visit your.caerphilly.gov.uk/bmi while further information on the tour is available at www.blackratproductions.co.uk.
