LEGENDARY Lancashire rock group The Hollies are set to take St David’s Hall by storm on October 19 with a night of huge hits.
One of the few British bands of the early 1960s that have never officially split up and they continue to captivate worldwide audiences. Deservedly, they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2010 for their services to music.
The Hollies, famed for their three-part harmonies, jangly guitars and marvelous melodies, released their first album way back in 1964 and although the record peaked at No.2, it was in the singles charts that they really found their niche with a string of perfect pop tunes. Chart-toppers like I’m Alive and He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother would consolidate their status as British rock royalty.
