1980s chart act Bad Manners and their legendary frontman, Buster Bloodvessel are set to play Newport’s Neon later this month.
Formed in 1976 while attending Woodberry Down comprehensive school, London, Bad Manners went on to become heavyweight Ska legends and a much loved 1980s pop band. Between 1980 and 1983, Bad Manners spent 111 weeks in the UK’s pop charts and the band had 12 hit singles which included Lip Up Fatty, My Girl Lollipop and Special Brew.
Although their line-up has fluctuated since their successful chart career, Buster Bloodvessel has always remained, continuing to play the classic anthems to audiences all over the world.
Their numerous TV appearances included many performances on Top of The Pops along with slots on Tiswas, Cheggers Plays Pop, The Time of Your Life, Nevermind The Buzzcocks and The Time & The Place.
They quickly became the novelty favorites of the fad through their bald, enormous-bodied frontman’s silly on-stage antics, earning early exposure through 2-Tone Records package tours and an appearance in the live documentary Dance Craze.
Bad Manners play Newport’s Neon on December 15. Tickets available by contacting the box office on 01633 533666 or visiting www.ticketmaster.co.uk/event/1F00515A926D3F66
