Live performances of Macbeth are about to take an interactive role in the education of Welsh learners. A pack for Welsh learners has been compiled by Nant Gwrtheyrn, in cooperation with Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru with support from The National Centre for Learning Welsh containing information and games, together with a separate guide for tutors.
The pack is suitable for Higher and Proficiency classes, and includes activities to complete some before seeing the play and others following the performance and can be downloaded for use in the classroom by visiting theatr.cymru/portfolio/macbeth/
Helen Prosser, Director of Strategy at The National Centre for Learning Welsh, said: “It is very important that every aspect of our contemporary culture is open to those who are learning Welsh. That is why the National Centre for Learning Welsh is very keen to work in partnership with Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru. The work of compiling packs in order to help them enjoy productions opens another door for our Welsh learners.”
Live performances of Macbeth will be held in Caerphilly Castle from February 7-18 and the production will be broadcast live to venues across Wales on 14 February, and repeat screening performances with English subtitles will follow until the end of April.
