Welsh Singer Competition 2016 winner, Sioned Gwen Davies will launch the Spring & Summer Lunchtime Concerts Season starts in style at St David’s Hall on January 31.
Sioned will represent Wales in the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition in June 2017, and her programme includes a taste of Spain with Manuel de Falla’s Siete Canciones Populares Españolas. The programme will also feature an array of English, American and French Cabaret songs by composers such as Britten, Bolcom, Weill and Satie. Accompanying the mezzo-soprano is pianist Caradog Williams.
The performance which begins at 1pm comes with a ‘Pay what you will’ price-tag continuing the commitment of the National Concert Hall of Wales and Cardiff Council in hosting high quality concerts, which are accessible to all.
- The ‘Pay what you will’ concert tickets will be available for collection from the Box Office on the day, and the performance will last for approximately one hour.
