IRELAND’S reigning rock queen Imelda May makes a return to St David’s Hall with her first UK tour in three years on May 5.
Imelda’s much-anticipated fifth album Life Love Flesh Blood is due for release in March and features guest appearances from Jeff Beck and Jools Holland. The albums songs, including her new single Call Me, contain the most personal and autobiographical lyrics that Imelda has ever written.
Like the album, the forthcoming tour promises to be show a new side to the inimitable artist. Imelda explains “I always loved the Fifties rockabilly style, but there was a point where I felt I was almost dressing up as Imelda May. It was as if I was getting into character for a gig. And I didn’t want to do that anymore. This is me. I’m so proud of this album and can’t wait to bring it out on the road.”
