The fundraising concert is in order to raise £35,000 to create, sculpt and install a statue of Newport Boxer David “Rocky” Pearce. The Newport sporting icon went down in history on September 22 1983 by defeating Neville Mead to win the British Heavyweight Championship Belt.
It is hoped that the proposed 7ft statue in memory of David will not only have appeal to the local community but also the boxing community
