In the promotional campaign to push Mike McGear’s first solo album in 1972, the tagline “You’ve never heard Michael McGear before and till his album woman, neither had he” was applied. Of course, prior to Woman, McGear was best known as one third of the Liverpool group, The Scaffold and been Beatle Paul’s younger brother.
Enlisting the help of several accomplished musicians including Zoot Money, Ginger Johnson and Brian Auger, there are some strong defined melodies that should have been given more acclaim.
