Berkshire born songwriter and multi award-nominated vocalist, Frances, recently released her debut album Things I’ve Never Said. The collection includes the singles Let It Out, Say It Again, Grow and her new single No Matter.
A talented live performer, Frances played her new single Don’t Worry About Me as part of Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer fundraiser.
Grow is included on the soundtrack to feature film Mum’s List, a film by Niall Johnson starring Rafe Spall and Emilia Fox. Her motion soundtrack success has continued, with What Is Love? being featured on the highly anticipated Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack.
Andy Howells recently put questions to the singer/songwriter.
What lead you to becoming a musician?
I always knew I would end up doing something musical for the rest of my life. It is the one thing that I know I can do forever and never get bored!
Who or what inspires you most?
Personal experience mostly. My songs are very honest! I’m also inspired by the people around me, I’m a big people watcher.
Can you tell us about your new album Things I’ve Never Said?
It’s my first album so it feels really exciting to be releasing it! It’s really soulful, emotional, honest and I hope that people can relate to the songs.
Your song Grow is featured on the soundtrack of Mum’s List, is it exciting to get a composition of yours used in a film?
It’s really exciting yes, I’ve always wanted to write a song for a film, and especially a film like Mum’s List as it’s such a beautiful and true story. It’s been a dream of mine since I was younger to write for screen, so I was really happy to write a song for the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack too which came out this year!
Are there any other releases to come?
Of course yes. I want to be releasing albums for the rest of my life. I’m always thinking about what I want to do next and I’m already thinking about my second album.
Will there be any live dates / tours in the future?
Yes, I have a big tour of UK and Europe coming up, starting in Dublin on 1st April. I’m particularly excited for my show at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London on 11th April!
How can people find out more about you and your music?
I’m on all the usual social media platforms. And you can hear my music just about everywhere! iTunes, Spotify, Googleplay, Apple Music etc.
