Ffin Dance return to The Met, Abertillery on May 19 with their latest work, Virago 2017.
Virago is a story about social injustice and has as much relevance today as it had in Victorian Wales. Minnie McGuire was the most arrested woman in Victorian Wales; she was the victim of poverty and a period of extreme hardship. She comes fresh from Chapter 13 of John F Wake’s book “The Cruel Streets Revisited”. With original music by Welsh singer Lorraine King and accompanying track by The Pogues, Virago is an inspiring and evocative piece of dance theatre.
Tickets for Virago 2017 are on sale at £8 / £6 Concessions. Call the Box Office on 01495 355800 or visit http://www.blaenaugwentvenues.com.
