The 28th Tredegar House Folk Festival takes place in Newport this weekend (May 12-14) and will feature a mix of free dance displays, concerts, ceilidhs, a real ale bar, children’s entertainer, music sessions, workshops, and costumed processions.
The festival’s weekend of fun starts on Friday evening with Newport Folk Club’s concert presenting Union Jill and a ceilidh with callers Pat and Ned .
Over the weekend there will be acts with an international flavour including Matenik from Prague, a group of school children from the small community of Jaunpiebalga in Latvia and Batalon Hungarian dancers from London.
Topping the bill will be music acts Jamie Smith’s Mabon, Allan-Yn-Y-Fan, Cardboard Fox, Morfa, Jez Lowe and Steve Tilston, and The Hut People. For further details on all events visit www.tredegarhousefestival.org.uk.
