CARDIFF’S own Royal Welsh College Symphony Orchestra return to St David’s Hall on June 28 with a programme consisting of Strauss and Sibelius.
Conductor David Jones will lead the orchestra through a sea of huge emotion and glorious colours from the sweeping life-and-death drama of Strauss’s Death and Transfiguration to the pastoral beauty and roof-raising triumph of Sibelius’s epic Second Symphony. Plus, the dying rays of Strauss’ glorious Four Last Songs have come to symbolise a whole era in romantic music.
This special programme will celebrate the transformative leadership of RWCMD Principal Hilary Boulding, who leaves RWCMD to assume the position of President of Trinity College, Oxford later this year.
