Family Fun Event looks At Diversity Of Local Environment

This summer Aneurin Leisure are working with Gwent Wildlife Trust to provide a variety of fun filled monthly activities for families at Parc Bryn Bach, promoting the ecology and diversity of the local environment.

The event, Bee’s, Butterflies and Wildflowers taking place on Sunday July 16 from 10am – 12pm, will involve a walk around Parc Bryn Bach looking for a variety of insects and resident wild flowers.  Participants will learn how to tell some of them apart and have a go at a variety of some craft related activities.

On Sunday August 20  from 10am – 12pm there will be a closer look to see what lives below the surface of the lake with a Pond Dipping & Dragonflies activity.  Participants will learn about the animals that live beneath the water and what they can tell us about their environment.  Afterwards there will be an opportunity to make a mini boat and/or dragonfly.

All activities are priced at £2 per child, or £5 per family (up to 3 children), and pre-booking is essential, so call on 01495 355920 to reserve your place.

The sessions are best suited for children aged 5 – 11 years and take place outdoors, so appropriate clothing is essential.  All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
