CD Review: Lindsey Buckingham / Christine McVie (East West Records)

It’s incredible to think that Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie have waited so long to put out an album as a duo. The pair, who along with Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie rerouted the direction of Fleetwood Mac in the 70s and 80s no doubt had a fabulous chemistry in the studio when creating music.

Of course, the behind the scenes turmoil’s of Fleetwood Mac have been well publicised over the years, so it’s great that the pair (along with rhythm backing from John and Mick) are back with this 10 track album.

Songs such as Sleeping Around The Corner, Feel About You and In My World all have a bit of what made Fleetwood Mac’s  Tango in the Night so iconic. But there’s something rather fresh, free and raw here too, as if the musicians are celebrating their creativeness and having fun in the studio again. It’s been too long coming, but please bring in some more!
