Newport’s premier comic, TV and film event Geekedfest returns to Newport Leisure Centre this weekend with plenty of fun for sci-fi and fantasy fans of all ages.
Over 40 traders and artists join the festival for the weekend with several celebrities from the world of TV fantasy led by comedian Justin Lee Collins and Newport born Torchwood actor Gareth David Lloyd taking part.

For gamers, headlining the Geekedfest line-up are voice actors Sean Schemmel; who lends vocal talents for Dragonball Z as Goku and from the game Overwatch, Downton Abbey actress Cara Theobold who provides the voice of Tracer Chloe Hollings the voice of Widowmaker.
From the world of comics are original comic writer for 2000AD / Judge Dredd John Wagner, 2000AD comic illustrator Dylan Teague, Transformers comic illustrator Jason Cardy and Simon Williams known for his illustrative work on both Hulk and Spiderman.
Familiar faces from television and film will also be attending Geekedfest such as comedian Justin Lee Collins, Chelsea Talmadge who plays Carol in Stranger Things, wrestling superstar Nick Aldis from TNA Impact Wrestling, Nathan McMullen aka Finn from Channel 4 show Misfits, Stella stars Karen Paullada and Aled Pugh and actor John Levene who portrayed the dependable Sgt Benton opposite Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker in many Doctor Who serials from 1968 to 1975.

Also appearing on Sunday only will be Newport actor Gareth David-Lloyd who portrayed Ianto Jones in the Doctor Who spin-off series Torchwood.
Other attractions will be full size replicas of cars from films including the DeLorean from Back to the Future and Lightning McQueen from Cars and Cosplay events, workshops and artist and trader stalls.
GeekedFest runs on Saturday August 5 from 11am to 6pm and Sunday August 6 from 11am to 5pm at Newport Leisure Centre .

- Adults are £10 each, a child between the ages of 5 & 12 goes free with each paying adult or are £4 extra. A family ticket would costs only £20 for 2 adults and 2 children.
