Summer Fun With Tales & Textile Workshops For Young People

Chepstow Museum is bringing an exciting and creative opportunity to Chepstow for young people during August with two Tuesday afternoon workshops.

Accomplished storyteller Megan Lloyd will captivate her audience with tales of the Indian gods and their amazing exploits. She brings to life some of the images captured by weavers over 300 years ago in the figured cloth that lines the gentleman’s gown on display in the Museum.  Then she will demonstrate how to create a batik picture and help and guide everyone at the workshop to produce a picture of their own, inspired by the stories, or motifs in the Indian textiles.

The workshop is suitable for kids aged 6+, and all children must be accompanied by an adult – but they can have a go too if they like! The Tales and textiles workshop will be held at the Drill Hall, Lower Church Street, Chepstow on Tuesdays August 8t and 29 from 2-4pm.

To book places (£4 per child) please contact Chepstow Museum on 01291 625981.
