Regarded as the best purveyors of the Blues in the UK today, The Blues Band will be back on tour in the autumn, with a date at Cardiff Globe on December 2.
The Blues Band were formed in 1979, by ex-Manfred Mann group members, Paul Jones and Tom McGuinness, originally to play a few pub gigs. Slide guitar ace and vocalist Dave Kelly was recruited, Gary Fletcher filled the bass post, while Rob Townsend of Family fame replaced Hughie Flint in 1982 at the drums.
In the past 35 years the band have played all around the world in venues ranging from intimate clubs through to civic halls and theatres, and have wowed festival audiences in many countries – including headline appearances at Glastonbury.
