CD Review: Floralyn George – When Light Falls Asleep EP

Combining the sounds of harp with an ethereal vocal sound, Cornwall based singer/songwriter Floralyn George has released a haunting but dynamic EP in the shape of When Light Falls Asleep.

The atmospheric track, The Burning Sea opens the EP while followed by Won’t Be Back displaying much of the magic that made early releases by Kate Bush and Tori Amos so wistfully brilliant.

The title track combines Floralyn’s seering vocals with harp and a raw beat. No doubt some shrewd record producer could remix this into a strong dance track, but undoubtedly its beauty is its rawness which you’ll find here.

  • Theres also a chance to catch Floralyn George live as she plays Bristol Thekla on September 2.
