Starting with a sultry saxophone playing behind a curtain Crazy For You is the ultimate feel-good musical with a fabulous score from the Gershwin brothers’ songbook. Mistaken identities, plot twists, heartbreak, happiness and a wealth of memorable tunes, including I Got Rhythm, They Can’t Take That Away From Me, Nice Work If You Can Get It and Embraceable You, all feature in this celebration of the great Broadway musicals.

Tom Chambers was outstanding as Bobby Child with his physical comedy skills shining as much as his singing and dancing and I also loved Caroline Flack’s portrayal of Irene Roth.
Charlotte Wakefield was the highlight of the show, her beautiful voice blended well with the Gershwin Brothers soundtrack. It was a delight to see her sing and dance across the stage.

Finally, a word about the amazingly talented ensemble who not only sang and danced but also played musical instruments on stage while they were singing and dancing. The musical instruments ranged from a Saxophone to a Bass, which was rolled around the stage as if it was as light as a feather. These performances in no way hindered the show, in fact they added little sequences that would have been hard to achieve without.
Crazy for You is on until the Saturday September 9, you’d be “crazy” to miss it!
