To coincide with the release of their new self-titled EP release, Teesside duo Cattle & Cane aka siblings Helen and Joe Hammill are currently undertaking an acoustic tour.
The EP follows on from the release of their critically-acclaimed sophomore album ‘Mirrors’, which was released back in May, the EP features six brand new recordings including a sumptuous cover of the Candi Staton classic Young Hearts Run Free.
“I co-wrote the first track ‘Home Is In Your Arms’ in Nashville – it’s hard not to come away from that place feeling inspired” explained Joe. “Although we recorded all of these tracks at home on Teesside, they’ve definitely been influenced by time spent writing, touring and recording overseas”.
Helen adds “’Seven Hours’ and ‘Make Your Vision’ are both alternative versions of tracks from ‘Mirrors’ – we had a lot of fun reinterpreting and reimagining those songs. I’m really excited for people to hear our cover of Young Hearts Run Free too, we’ve loved playing it live at shows recently” she added.
Joe and Helen will be joined by their brother Fran on piano and guitarist Thom Fripp for the stripped-back dates which includes an appearance at Cardiff’s Snails Deli on September 22.
