Chilling Tale The Ghost’s Touch To Haunt Cardiff Audiences

TV stars Terri Dwyer and Mark Homer are set to give a haunting performance based on the chilling tale by the author of The Woman in White, Wilkie Collins’ The Ghost’s Touch when it comes to Cardiff’s New Theatre in October.

Produced by Rumpus’, The Ghost’s Touch unfolds as widower Stephen Rayburn’s young daughter Lucy runs back to him from the woods in Kensington Gardens. He can see that she’s frightened. “Is it the dog?” he asks. “It’s not the dog,” she answers. “It’s the lady … I think she might be mad!” The ghostly woman Stephen meets leads him into a web of lust and revenge that reaches out from beyond the grave.

Starring as Stephen Rayburn is former EastEnders actor Mark Homer. Amongst Mark’s further TV credits are roles in drama series Casualty and Silent Witness while on stage he has appeared in The Signalman, The Pit and The Pendulum and Neville’s Island.

Actress Terri Dwyer who shot to fame in television’s Hollyoaks plays the mysterious Mrs Zant. In recent years Terri’s TV credits have included Holby City and Law and Order while on stage she has appeared in Dial M for Murder and The Revlon Girl.

“It’s a very thought-provoking play,” Terri tells Andy Howells when discussing The Ghost’s Touch, “I’m told that in the interval there are lots of very interesting conversations because nobody is quite sure who the ghost is. It’s not until the very end of the play that it all comes to fruition so if you like a ghost tale and something that requires you to use your grey matter, a little bit then its definitely the play for you.”

  • The Ghost’s Touch plays at Cardiff’s New Theatre for a limited run from October 3-5. Tickets are available from newtheatrecardiff.co.uk or by calling 029 2087 8889.
