Following last year’s popular production of John Godber’s Bouncers, Black Rat Productions return to Abergavenny’s Borough Theatre with One Man, Two Guvnors on Saturday October 14 at 7.30pm.
Fired from his skiffle band, Francis Henshall is at the centre of the production’s plot when he becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe, a small time East End hood, now in Brighton to collect £6,000 from the dad of his fiancée… But Roscoe is really his sister Rachel posing as her own dead brother, who has been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers!
Holed up at The Cricketers Arms, the permanently ravenous Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a second job with one Stanley Stubbers, who is hiding from the police and waiting to be reunited with Rachel. To prevent discovery, Francis must keep his two guvnors apart.
Black Rat Productions have become well known for their fast-paced action packed autumn tours that have delighted audiences over the past 10 years. Past productions have included: Neville’s Island, Boeing Boeing, Bedroom Farce, The 39 Steps and Bouncers.
Director Richard Tunley said “Since we began 10 years ago I am delighted with what the company has achieved. I know One Man, Two Guvnors will further build on our reputation for quality comedy drama and I look forward to watching the reaction from the audiences across Wales. “
