Goldie Lookin’ Chain Announce Hometown Newport Date For 2018

Goldie Lookin’ Chain, Britain’s biggest rap group are to make their live return in 2018 with a hometown performance at Newport’s Neon venue on February 24.

Returning to the venue, a former 1930s art deco Cinema, for the first time in over a decade this is sure to be a momentous occasion.

Known for classics like Guns don’t kill people rappers do and a homage to the home city Newport State of Mind,  The GLC started almost by accident around the turn of the century with Eggsy’s impromptu rap about his tracksuit over a serious piece of music Rhys was working on in the studio. Adam Hussain, Billy Webb, Mystkal, the Maggot, 2hats and Mike Balls convinced Rhys to record the rap.

The GLC’s first album “Don’t Blame the Chain” swiftly followed and the journey that followed has seen chart success, performances around the world and at every major festival in the Western Hemisphere, all with tongue firmly placed in cheek and a few laughs along the way too.

Now many years since that first rap about Eggsy’s tracksuit, the boys are still keeping it real in the rap game and hold the title of the most successful UK rap act ever.

The GLC will play Newport Neon on February 24. Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. Age limit – 14 + and all Under 16`s must be accompanied by adult
