The female lead of the recent Wales Millennium Centre success Tiger Bay – The Musical, Vikki Bebb, has been confirmed as one of the stars in The Spirit of Christmas concerts which will take place in Church of All Saints, Penarth (16 December), St Peter’s Church, Pentre in the Rhondda (17 December) and St John the Baptist Church, Cardiff (20 December).
Vikki,,who has received unanimous acclaim from audiences and critics alike for her performance in the musical, says she is thrilled to be bringing together the magic of the West End and the spirit of Christmas to 3 venues across south Wales next month.
Vikki says; ‘It has been so wonderful being in Cardiff to perform in Tiger Bay – The Musical over the last few weeks and to be able to come back and work with Wick’d Productions on the Spirit of Christmas, so close to home, at such a special time of year is a real treat for me – I can’t wait!”.
The Spirit of Christmas is produced by Welsh company Wick’d Productions and is returning for a third year following sell-out performances last year with another West End star, Welsh songstress Sophie Evans, leading the cast.
Evans has since gone on to perform in the West End production of Wicked, playing the lead role of Glinda and producer/performer Lee Gilbert is delighted to be bringing the best of Welsh talent to his Christmas production again this year with Steve Balsamo, Callum Howells and Clare Hingott also confirmed for the three-concert tour.
He says: “We had such a great response to last year’s concerts with musical theatre stars performing alongside choirs, community groups and schools for what was a really special night out in that exciting week before Christmas.”
Gilbert continues; “We’re thrilled to have confirmed the Glamorgan Youth Choir for the Cardiff date, Stanwell School Choir for Penarth and Côr Ysgol Y Cymer in Pentre and we’re in the process of confirming even more artists for all three dates – watch this space!”
With a packed calendar of Christmas events across Cardiff and beyond, The Spirit of Christmas promises to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas with thrilling performances from world-class singers alongside local talent.
