Written by award winning writer Tim Firth, The Band is a beautiful story for anyone who grew up with a boyband and how those songs became the soundtrack to their lives.
For five 16-year-old girls in 1992, the band is everything. Twenty-five years on, we are reunited with the group of friends as they try once more to fulfil their dream of meeting their heroes.
“There’s an amazing story behind it” says Penarth born actress, Alison Fitzjohn, who plays Clare, “ It will take you on a real roller-coaster of emotions. You’ll be laughing, crying, singing dancing and it will make you think. It’ll be a show you won’t expect it to be, so definitely come and enjoy it!”
The Band includes the music of Take That, Britain’s most successful boyband of all time, whose songs include Never Forget, Back For Good, A Million Love Songs, Greatest Day, The Flood, Relight My Fire, Shine and Rule the World and features the winners from the BBC’s Let it Shine, Five To Five.
THE BAND is at Wales Millennium Centre from Tuesday January 9 until SaturdayJanuary 20 with tickets from £19.50. Call the box office on 029 2063 6464 or book online at http://www.wmc.org.uk
