In October 2018, Newport based Tin Shed Theatre Co. are hoping to stage a production of Moby Dick, on the floating gondolier of the iconic Transporter Bridge.
Working with professionals and the local residents of Pillgwenlly, the group want create an exciting piece of new work, in a totally unique way. Researching the bridges history and combining it with stories and memories of local people, the company wants to use Moby Dick as a conduit for these experiences, creating an awe inspiring, free, theatrical event for the people of Wales, and further afield.
Working closely with Newport City Council and Pill Millennium Centre, as well as having received support and funding from Living Levels, Fusion Project, First Campus, The Riverfront and Arts Council Wales, the work is currently in an early explorative phase, with the company looking at how to make the work with and along side local people.

Tin Shed Theatre Co. are developing a Newport Community Theatre – ‘The Public Theatre. and are aiming to build a team of Newport voices who can help tell the story and are looking for local volunteers to get involved.
If you are a resident of Newport, aged 18+ and want to perform or work behind the scenes in a professional theatre performance Tinshed Theatre Co need your help.
The company are looking for storytellers, performers, writers and people with an interest in backstage / technical or design work. Also; PR, marketing, enterprise, fundraising and front of house experiences to be developed. No professional experience necessary, just a keen ability to learn more.

Tin Shed Theatre Co. are developing a Newport Community Theatre – ‘The Public Theatre
The Public Theatre is free to attend and spaces will be limited. To get involved visit The Pill Millennium Centre on the 23rd April at 6pm, tea and cake will be provided. Visitors will have the chance to meet and work with a team of professionals to shape a performance that will be shown on the 3rd of May.
