Talking Music: Rick Nunn of The Milk

London based rockers, The Milk are back on tour playing music from theiir forthcoming third album.

The four life-long friends, Rick Nunn (lead vocals, guitar, keys), Mitch Ayling (drums, vocals, keys), Dan Le Gresley (lead guitar, vocals), Luke Ayling (bass guitar) went from forming their first band in an Essex school to playing countless working mens’ clubs before finally becoming The Milk. 

The band will play Bristol’s Fleece on May 31. Andy Howells recently put questions to Rick Nunn.

What inspires your music?

Our friendship. 

Can you give us some background about your latest release?

Darker, angrier, faster and wiser. 

What do you like most about touring?

Vast amounts of unbroken time with the funniest guys i know. 

What can people expect from your forthcoming shows?

The best 12 rounds of our career. 

What are you enjoying listening to at the moment?

The Doors, Charlotte Day-Wilson, Badbadnotgood, War on Drugs. 

Whats been your best live gig appearance as a performer?

The Union Chapel in London a couple of summers ago. 

We were also reminiscing in the studio the other day about a gig we did in Moscow a few years back that we all loved. It was some club inside the Olympic Stadium, can’t remember the name..
