1960s singing legend Frank Ifield postponed the second date of his current UK tour today at Cwmbran’s Congress Theatre due to a severe throat infection.
The Coventry born singing star who now resides in Australia had arrived in the UK earlier this week and had commenced his tour in Broadstairs, Kent on May 4.
Frank’s manager, Tracy Dann told the audience that arrived at Cwmbran’s Congress Theatre, that Frank had sought Doctors advice and had been advised not to sing or speak following the development of a severe throat infection.
The Congress Theatre show has now been rescheduled for May 26,
Frank, along with his show’s guest artist, Australian singer/songwriter Nicki Gillis were on hand to meet and greet fans who had arrived at the theatre to sign autographs. Frank also attempted to answer questions (with help provided from both Nicki and Tracy).
Entertainment South Wales would like to wish Frank a speedy recovery and will be posting an audio file of our interview with him soon.
In the meantime, you can read Frank’s interview here.
Frank Ifield & Friends will now take place at Cwmbran’s Congress Theatre on May 26th. Visit congresstheatre.co.uk for details
