Newport Playgoers latest production promises to be a thrill from start to finish. Strictly Murder, a fast-paced mystery set in France in 1939 has all the ingredients to provide a great night at the theatre.
An English couple, Peter and Suzy, are living in Provence in idyllic isolation, far, it seems, from the rumblings of the coming war. But their peace is shattered from within. Lies, subterfuge and murder make this fast-moving thriller a dark and disturbing roller coaster of bluff and double bluff.
First time director Clare Drewett says
“I have been lucky to have a talented and committed cast and we have all enjoyed bringing the characters to life. The script is a joy – funny at times, poignant and full of tension,”
.”We can’t wait to see the audiences’ reactions. I am sure they will love it as much as we do and find it as thrilling! I can’t say too much as I don’t want to reveal the plot – but there are plenty of twists and turns to be revealed!”
