GEORGE GERSHWIN salsas the night away under a Cuban sky, while on the backstreets of New York, teenage gangs clash to the sound of electrifying dance rhythms.
Whatever the weather in Cardiff, the temperature at St David’s Hall on Wednesday 27 June will be rising in this sizzling, swinging programme from the Royal Welsh College Symphony Orchestra.
The powerful programme will commence with Gershwin’s Cuban Overture before a sensational suite of his classics forms a captivating centre-piece with Somebody Loves Me, The Man I Love and Fascinating Rhythm.
Either side of that magnificent medley is Karol Szymanowski’s Violin Concerto No 1 featuring promising soloist Sam Hau, and Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story. Conductor for the evening is David Jones.
