Thanks to sponsorship from Western Power Distribution (WPD), Newport’s Big Splash are offering free Hula Hoop classes at The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre and will be organizing a “Hula Paloola Party” with as many children and older adults as possible taking part on the Saturday of Big Splash.
There will be free Hula Hoop classes offered at The Riverfront on Saturday 7 & 14 July 2018 at 10am-12pm and Friday 20 July at 6pm-8pm, led by the Sparklettes; Wales’ premier Hula Hoop Troupe. This inter-generational project will help older adults and young people perfect their hula hoop skills and have lots of fun together. Fun for the young and the young at heart, great fun and exercise for all ages. Bring the whole family and learn how to hula hoop or perfect your skills with our fun free Hula Hoop class.

Newport’s Big Splash Festival will be holding free Hula Hoop classes in conjunction with Western Power.
All of the people who attended these classes and anyone else who is around The Riverfront at 11.30am on Saturday 21 July, will be invited to join in a mass Hula Hoop party as part of the Big Splash festival. “Hula Paloola” will invite everyone to bring their own hoops or grab one of ours and join in with the biggest hula hoop flash mob of young people and older adults that we can create!
“We believe it is the responsibility of large organisations like ours to play a full and active role in the communities they share. WPD is delighted to support the Big Splash by sponsoring this inter-generational project and look forward to seeing everyone, young and old join in with the mass Hula Hoop flash mob,” said WPD’s Karen Welch.
The Big Splash family street theatre festival returns to Newport with a weekend of FREE family fun on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 July 2018!
