Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds – Alive on Stage celebrates its 40th anniversary, with two performances at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena on Sunday 9 and Monday 10 December 2018.
Conducted by Jeff Wayne, with the 9-piece Black Smoke Band and 36-piece Ullabubulla Strings, the most ambitious production yet will ‘break through the fourth wall’ bringing action closer to the audience for a most captivating and immersive, musical experience, including the iconic 3-tonne 35-foot tall Martian Fighting Machine firing real flames.
Jeff Wayne’s original concept album of War of The Worlds has sold over 15 million records worldwide since its release in 1978 and featured two International hit singles – ‘Forever Autumn’ and ‘The Eve of The War’, spending over 330 weeks in the UK album charts.
War of The Worlds features a star-studded cast. Jason Donovan returns to the role of Parson Nathaniel alongside West End actress Carrie Hope Fletcher as Beth, his wife. Actor and theatre star Adam Garcia will debut as The Artilleryman, British singer-songwriter Newton Faulkner will perform The Sung Thoughts of The Journalist, Inglorious front man Nathan James will play The Voice of Humanity, with Anna-Marie Wayne reprising her role as Carrie, The Journalist’s Fiancée.
