Music Legend Joan Baez To Play Cardiff

LEGENDARY artist, activist and 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Joan Baez is back at St David’s Hall on Saturday 23 February.

Great seats have just been released in Stalls, and there are lower priced tickets available in Tier 5 (behind the stage) priced only £32 to see the iconic singer-songwriter on her Fare Thee Well tour. In March 2018, Joan returned with her critically acclaimed work Whistle Down the Wind – which was her first album in 10 years – and you can expect new tracks and old favourites at the National Concert Hall of Wales.

Throughout her incredible career, Joan has introduced Bob Dylan to the world, marched on the front lines of the Civil Rights movement with Martin Luther King, inspired Václav Havel to fight for a Czech Republic, and she continues to stand passionately on behalf of causes she embraces.

The charismatic New Yorker first performed over 60 years ago and has released more than 30 albums. Fluent in Spanish and English, she has also recorded songs in at least six other languages. Although regarded as a folk singer, her music has diversified since the counter-culture era of the 1960s, and encompasses genres such as folk-rock, pop, country and gospel.

Joan is the recipient of countless honours including the Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Award and Amnesty International’s Ambassador of Conscience Award.
