UK music sensation Anne-Marie brought her headline tour to Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena on Friday evening and to greet her was a packed-out venue of Welsh fans.
Supporting Anne-Marie was Canadian singer-songwriter Lennon Stella, whose performance highlight was her hit Polaroid, more famously a collaboration with Jonas Blue and Liam Payne. Lennon performed the track for the Cardiff audience solo, as she gave a mesmerising performance accompanying herself on electric guitar.
Following Lennon Stella’s opening set, anticipation grew in the auditorium with the audience singing along to the background music. Soon, Annie Marie arrived on stage with lots of energy, performing Bad Girlfriend and instantly drawing the audience in. We knew we were in for a great evening!

The lighting and set design created an outstanding atmosphere. Bright colours, projected messages to the audience. Red for her more edgy songs while bright yellow conveyed a message of looking back and reflection for her song, 2002.
Anne-Marie demonstrated amazing vocals and a great stage presence.
Honest, down to earth and friendly, the singer was not afraid to reveal what was going on in her life, so that the audience could relate to her personal situations. For the song Alarm, she revealed how the song was inspired by the situation of an ex-boyfriend cheating on her, while the song, Perfect, had the “perfect” introduction with ordinary people and celebrities talking about what been perfect means to them.
This audience reaction to Anne-Marie went crazy with fans singing along and having fun, to a point that at times we were nearly singing a whole song without any music accompaniment.
Ultimately, we all had an excellent evening singing along with everything Anne-Marie performed and if there was one complaint it was that we didn’t want the atmosphere to end!
