60s Star, Brian “Licorice” Locking Steps From The Shadows To Play Newport!

Former Shadows bassist Brian ‘Licorice’ Locking will join Newport based guitarist Maurice Woodcroft (Guitar Moods) for an evening of Shadows Music and anecdotes on November 2, 2019

Brian joined the Shadows in 1962 after original bass man Jet Harris left the group to pursue a solo career. By this time, The Shadows, had already topped the charts with Apache and Kon-Tiki, and would go on to have three further number ones during Brian’s time with the group with Wonderful Land, Dance On and FootTapper.

As well as performing on hits such as Atlantis and Guitar Tango, Brian also appeared with The Shadows in ‘Summer Holiday’ and performed on the top selling EP soundtrack for the cult film, The Boys.

Newport-based guitarist Maurice Woodcroft was lead guitarist/vocalist with Shadows tribute band ‘Bungleflint’ who toured the UK and France and recorded the highly acclaimed CD ‘Deja Vu’ which featured on the BBC Radio Rock Show.

A must for fans of 60s music, the show entitled Guitar Moods and a Shadow is a rare opportunity to hear anecdotes and classic instrumental hits performed live by a true Shadows legend in the intimate setting of The Riverfront’s studio.
