Mr Majeika and the Magic Organ Bring Family Fun To St David’s Hall!

THE St David’s Hall organ brings to life a beloved children’s tale on Saturday 7 September in a fun-filled Family Concert.

Based on the popular series of books by Humphrey Carpenter, Mr Majeika and the Magic Organ will be played by acclaimed organist David Pipe with wonderful narration from John Biddle.

There’s also a performance of Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D minor; and to show the organ’s versatility in telling a story, David will play Star Wars and Harry Potter as well!

Plus, audience members are needed to help build an organ on the spot! Come and see the ‘WOOFYT’ – a special kit organ which shows you all you need to know about the instrument’s mechanics – and it’s easy to play!

The WOOFYT (Wooden One-octave Organ For Young Technologists) is a musical instrument consisting of the basic components of a pipe organ (air pump, air reservoir, organ pipes) and is a simple concept to help demonstrate how pipe organs work. It can also be used to explore the science of sound, engineering and team building. Come try it out for yourself with the whole family! Viscount Classical Organs Wales will be in attendance too with a digital organ for you to try!
