A REGULAR LITTLE HOUDINI
Wednesday 11 & Thursday 12 March, 7.30pm
Book before 11 Feb for £10 tickets with SPRING10

The first of these shows is A Regular Little Houdini. Written and staring Newport’s own Daniel Llewelyn-Williams, the wondrous modern fairy-tale returns to the city that inspired it after a world tour. The piece explores Newport’s history through the irrepressible spirit of a young boy who defies destiny to become a stage magician like his hero Harry Houdini. Set in the shadow of the Transporter Bridge at the turn of the last century A Regular Little Houdini is a coming of age, Cinderella-story about a young boy from the docks who seeks change. Filled with youthful imagination and a very real danger brought about by the reality of working-class industrial life, the play is inspired by the author’s family stories and the true to life visits of Houdini to Newport.
