Skid Row appear t Castle Roc on Friday 14th August, 2019
Skid Row
New Jersey rockers, Skid Row will rock Chepstow Castle on Friday 14th August, with support from Hollowstar and Collateral.
Founded in 1986, Skid Row were New Jersey kids with a punk and metal attitude. Top Ten singles and Gold and multi-platinum sales followed as well as a No. 1 on the Billboard album chart. Following an ill-advised South American tour in 1996, the band split only to reform in 1999. The core camaraderie never died as Bassist Rachel Bolan explains,
“When we put the band back together, we needed to reintroduce Skid Row as relevant without relying too much on past success. We wrote songs and hit the road. We sunk our heart and soul into it, letting people know we weren’t doing it for lack of anything better to do.”
The sound and energy of Skid Row will be captured at their forthcoming Castle Roc gig.

At the same time, Russell held the number one spot in the USA, making him the first British male artiste to attain a simultaneous transatlantic number one. ‘The Voice’ subsequently became the first and only album by a UK classical artiste to achieve 1,000,000 sales!
His career has seen him perform for some of the world’s leading figures. From Presidents to Popes and Emperors to Queens. The list includes, HM The Queen, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh (to whom he is an ambassador for the Dukes Fellowship Charity), HRH Prince Charles (where he is an ambassador for the Prince’s Trust), the late Pope John Paul II who requested a private audience with Russell at the Vatican, former US presidents Bill Clinton, George W Bush and Barak Obama. The Emperor of Japan, the president of Uzbekistan and the king of Malaysia.
Russell’s eleventh studio album has seen him collaborate with long- time friend Aled Jones. The CD ‘In Harmony’ was the best-selling classical crossover record by a UK artiste of 2018! He continues to sell out venues all over the UK and indeed the world.
