Don’t Panic! Dad’s Army Radio Show Stars On Parade For Facebook Broadcast

Don’t panic Captain Mainwaring! Dad’s Army – one of the nation’s best-loved sitcoms is set to entertain audiences once again via Facebook!

On Sunday 5th April at 7:30pm GMT, actors David Benson and Jack Lane are inviting audiences to visit their Facebook page for Dad’s Army Radio Show: On Air – The HOME Front Edition, in which they will present a special recording of the last ever Dad’s Army episode ‘Never Too Old’.

David Benson (Goodnight Sweetheart and One Man, Two Guvnors) and Jack Lane (Wisdom of a Fool and 7 Days) will transport the audience right back to Walmington-on-Sea, complete with sound effects, vintage music and all of Jimmy Perry and David Croft’s beloved characters and catchphrases.

David and Jack have recently been touring with their own stage adaptations of Dad’s Army, recreating all the characters voices live on stage. The original Dad’s Army series was adapted for radio in the 1970s featuring the original cast, however, Never Too Old, originally broadcast on BBC1 in 1977 was never adapted for radio.

To ensure everyone has an opportunity to view this episode it will be available for 24 hours on their Facebook page.

Everyone involved with this special presentation is donating their time to help bring a much-needed smile to people’s homes during the Coronavirus pandemic. The participants simply ask, if you can, for a donation towards their chosen charity, Acting For Others by donating to https://bit.ly/dadsarmyradio
