Eight Must-See Musicals Scheduled For Wales Millennium Centre in 2021

Rachel Howells previews eight must-see musicals scheduled to play Wales Millennium Centre in 2021.

I think everyone needs something to look forward to into 2021.  My favourite way is to go out is watch a good musical, especially at the Wales Millennium Centre!

Over the last few months there have been several tour announcements, including the return of some old favourites such as Grease and Sister Act. Here, I’m highlighting some of the newer and less seen musicals scheduled to play the Wales Millennium Centre in 2021.

As we are still in the middle of the Pandemic, I suspect that all dates are subject to change (but I really hope not) and many of these shows have not announced their casts therefore I’m including links to the tour websites.  These websites are where you will find the most up to date information about the tour and date changes.

Shane Richie is to feature in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie,
3–8 May 2021

This was one of the most anticipated tours of 2020 which has already been cast and with dates starting as soon as March 2021.

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie features Leyton Williams as Jamie, a role he led with in the West End. The cast will also feature Shane Ritchie as Hugo/Loco Channel.

Six The Musical proved popular on its last tour and will return to Cardiff

Six,
8–19 June 2021

The beginning of 2020 saw Six sell out many performances with their one week stay in the WMC.

After being one of the tours that was paused when the pandemic hit, I’m pleased to see that it will be resuming its tour with almost the same cast. Performances on this tour were due to start this month , but this time it’s back for longer with an 11 day run.

The tour restarts in May 2021 at the Bristol Hippodrome but currently there are only 4 venues announced on the tour with a return to the Wales Millennium Centre scheduled for July 2021.

Dates have been added to We Will Rock You’s next UK Tour

We Will Rock You,

We Will Rock You is another tour that was put on hiatus when the Pandemic hit.  Resuming in April, the tour has been extended with an additional 4 dates added.

With the same cast, the musical is scheduled for the Wales Millennium Centre during July 2020.

West End success Waitress is to play Wales Millennium Centre

Waitress,

Having seen the West End production in August 2019 this is one of the productions that I was most looking forward to in 2020, but thankfully it has been rescheduled for 2021.

As of December 2020, there was no cast announcement therefore click the link below for updated information.
