All ten audio theatre experiences in Sherman Theatre’s celebrated Heart of Cardiff series return as part of the Heart of Cardiff Box Set, available until 19 Feb 2021.
Including work from established, emerging, and entirely new voices, the audio dramas in Heart of Cardiff tell stories inspired by Cardiff communities, historical change-makers, personal experiences, and unheard perspectives of the city.
Joe Murphy, Sherman Theatre Artistic Director, said: “Bringing back these ten pieces in the Heart of Cardiff audio theatre series felt like the best way to continue serving our audiences while we’re back in lockdown, making exceptional drama and documentary as accessible as possible to our Cardiff communities.”

“We hope these audio dramas, documentaries, magical-realist plays and true stories inspire our communities in Cardiff and beyond to learn something new about their area, meet change-making characters in Welsh history, and access beautiful storytelling if they need a little escapism and entertainment.”
“We’ve loved working so closely with these writers and the Cardiff communities which inspired each play. We hope audiences enjoy listening to each audio theatre experience in the series, whether listening for the first time or delving back into their favourite play. Heart of Cardiff is for everyone, and we hope we’ve done justice to the communities and figures the series celebrates.”
