Stage Stars Release Song To Raise Awareness and Funds For Newport’s Dolman Theatre

A special song featuring a collective of established theatre performers has been released via YouTube to raise awareness and funds for Newport’s Dolman Theatre.

Stage stars including Caroline Sheen, Steffan Lloyd-Evans, Stifyn Parri and Gareth Tempest along with members of various societies from Newport’s Dolman Theatre have lent their vocal talents to a new song Part of The Show written by Kevin Myers of production company, Anyday Theatre.

The aim of the song is to raise awareness and funding for the Dolman Theatre, a community-owned centre for the Arts which has played host to many local theatre companies over the last five decades including Newport Playgoers Society, Centrestage Cymru  and Newport Operatic Society.

Kevin Myers said, “We’re very grateful that a host of performers, including Caroline Sheen, Steffan Lloyd-Evans, Stifyn Parri and Gareth Tempest alongside others have lent their talents.

“The Dolman Theatre in Newport is very close to our hearts, and like so many other venues has struggled due to the pandemic, with no income and overheads as high as ever.

“Please do donate if you can and consider sharing the video as widely as possible.”

  • The video is available to watch and share via YouTube and above, while donations can be made to gofundme.com/f/Dolman
