Rachel Howells look at the musical version of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, shortly coming to Bristol Hippodrome.
The Bristol Hippodrome is looking forward to its grand re-opening on the 25th of August and it will be reopening with a bang. Not only will it be celebrating it’s re-opening but it also will be hosting the opening night of The Beauty and The Beast musical tour.
New for 2021, the musical will be spectacularly reimagined using the latest theatrical innovations, this beloved ‘tale as old as time’ will be brought to life on stage like never before, with all the charm and elegance audiences expect from Belle and her Beast.
Members of the original creative team have reunited on this new production that features all of the spellbinding music and lyrics of Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice.

Headlining the cast are Courtney Stapleton (Dear Evan Hanson, SIX) as Belle and Emmanuel Kojo (Oklahoma!) as the Beast. As you can see from the rehearsal images below there is a good chemistry between them and I can’t wait to see them bring the story to life on the stage.
The cast also comprises of Martin Ball as Maurice, Gavin Lee as Lumiere, Nigel Richards as Cogsworth and Sam Bailey as Mrs Potts all with a wealth of musical theatre experience behind them.

Tom Senior takes on the role of Gaston.
- Disney’s Beauty & The Beast runs at The Bristol Hippodrome from Wednesday August 25 to Saturday September 18 2021. Tickets are available from the Bristol Hippodrome
