The story of The Lion King is to roar once again into life on stage using masks, puppets, and costumes to tell the story of Simba’s adventures in 2022!
Following his stage debut in the West End Cast of Hamilton, Stephenson Ardern-Sodje will play the role of Simba.
The Lion King cast will also include Nokwanda Khuzwayo as Nala, who has played the role in the past. Timon and Pumbaa are to be played by Alan McHale and Carl Sanderson. Scar is to be played by Richard Hurst. The company will also include Jean-Luc Guizzone, Thandazile Soni, Simon Trinder, Matthew Forbes, Owain Rhys Davies and Rebecca Omog Behin.

The tour will reopen this December in Dublin before later moving on to other cities including Cardiff, Bristol, Bradford, Southampton and Manchester.
Record-Breaking Show, The Lion King
The Lion King first opened on Broadway and has had 25 global productions including 9 different language adaptations. The tour is produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, with direction by Thomas Schumacher.

The musical’s previous tour broke UK attendance records. Since the 1999 premier, The Lion King has been played to over 16 million theatregoers and is the 6th longest running West End musical.
The artistry of the production is the work of designers which drew on diverse cultural influences to recreate the colours and expanses of the African savanna in this reinvention of one of the most successful animated feature films.
